Who we are
Uzima [Life] Charity Foundation is a registered nonprofit organization in Uganda(RegNo: 80020002870658). Weprovide educational scholarships to vulnerable children and pay their medical expenses to help improve their sub-standard health conditions. .Uganda is one of the countries in Africa greatly affected by the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS,a poor national health system, numerous accidents due to low safety standards, Malaria, and other natural causes of death. For that reason, many children have lost their parents and are orphans, while others have met their vulnerability because of the high level of poverty (families living on less than a dollar per day), unemployment of guardians, ignorance, primitive diseases, general backwardness in society in the understanding of medical and economic issues, underemployment etc.
With all these kinds of challenges; many children in Uganda find going to school more or less impossible. Lack of scholastic materials, expensive school fees per capital and an almost non-existent learning environment; stand to be the major obstacles towards their education. Therefore, we provide scholarships, scholastic materials (school supplies), food, books, and uniforms so they may attend school. Why are we so passionate about this cause? Benjamin Franklin gave one of the best reasons for that question. He said “Ann investment in knowledge pays the best interest” and Malcolm X states that “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. These are some of the principles that guide us in our educational mission.
We are determined to prepare the children that God has brought to us in this season. Our objective is for the children to pay the world the best interest in their future. Our vision bearers and leadership team grew up as less privileged children in this community. Kind people, like you had a hand in supporting our education. Now, we feel it is our time to help others. Please join us in our mission to serve these vulnerable children in helping to equip them with their education.
